Acrylic block containing a flown piece of Command Module (CM) honeycomb heatshield and a fragment of a flight used "Earth Orbit Block Data" checklist - flown to the moon on mankinds first lunar flight - Apollo 8.
Made out of the most advanced acrylic available on the market today - Plexid 55 - these are ultraclear with no discoloration over time. Unlike other privately made acrylics or lucites these are real blocks, not cheaply glued or screwed together.
Each block is about 5''x3''x1'' in size - perfect for any office table or even flat down in a cabinet.
- Flown honeycomb heatshield from the Apollo 8 command module, taken from a heatshield plug that was encased in lucite and originally given to contractor and VIPs by NASA
- Flown fragment of an "Updates" - "Earth orbit block data" checklist page, originally from the collection of James Lovell - used by the entire crew during the flight !
Only 40 such acrylics were made and each comes with a COA and documentation about the background of both artifacts.
