There are a few holy grails of space flown artifacts which never seem to be available : John Glenn Mercury MA-6 and Yuri Gagarin - Vostok 1.
Unfortunately (for collectors) these represent the first orbital flights of a Russian and an American astronaut in history. This is an opportunity for the passionate collector to own a FLOWN artifact perfectly certified from the world's first manned spaceflight when Yuri Gagain became the first man in space.
Since then very few flown artifacts from Vostok 1 have surfaced the market, some legal, some more illegal, some with weak provenance, some with better provenance but still nothing serious. We were glad to obtain a flown hollow bolt from the Vostok 1 capsule with provenance and certification by Oleg Ivanovsky (already in charge of the first Sputnik and Lunar flights - shown on the color photos along with Yuri Gagarin) who was made director of the first manned spaceflight by Sergey Korolev and became the last person to wish Gagarin a safe flight before he tightened one of these screws/bolts on the capsule's hatch. This bolt held the capsule together that carried Yuri Gagarin into space on April 12, 1961.
Bolt metal fragments mounted on a 7x9'' rigid foam board certified on the backside. The metal fragments were collected during cutting a part of the original bolt into slices for an acrylic presentation.
Great opportunity to get a flown Vostok 1 artifact at an unbeatable price.
